RASTAMAN VIBRATION`s burlap-esque jacket design couldn`t be more appropriate packaging-this is a load of Natty knowledge delivered in simple, raw fashion. And there`s a real beauty in the weave. This 1976 release finds Bob dropping ever more lyrics on human entanglements both local and global, his transcendent voice threading wisdom through it all. "Positive Vibration" and "Roots, Rock, Reggae" are anthemic in character, inviting all listeners to quit their negativity and start a-dancin`. "Want More" is a promise of bad karma for back-biters everywhere, leadened fearfully by solemn bass lines and seamless production. Perhaps most compelling here is "War," a musical setting of a 1968 speech on global justice by the Emperor Haile Selassie I of Ethiopia. Bob`s echoing fade with the words, "Good Over Evil" is positively haunting. While Peter Tosh`s voice is absent, the classic exchange between Marley and the I-Threes (backing vocal divas, for those not in the know) shines all the more brightly in the spotlight. Funky organs are everywhere. Every track on RASTAMAN VIBRATION is an excellent piece of vintage roots reggae, proving just how powerful and tight Bob`s studio sessions could be.Track Listing: •DISC 1: 1.Positive Vibration - (with Bob Marley) 2.Roots, Rock, Reggae - (with Bob Marley) 3.Johnny Was - (with Bob Marley) 4.Cry to Me - (with Bob Marley) 5.Want More - (with Bob Marley) 6.Crazy Baldhead - (with Bob Marley) 7.Who the Cap Fit - (with Bob Marley) 8.Night Shift - (with Bob Marley) 9.War - (with Bob Marley) 10.Rat Race - (with Bob Marley) 11.Jah Live - (original mix, with Bob Marley) 12.Concrete - (with Bob Marley) 13.Roots, Rock, Reggae - (single mix, previously unreleased, with Bob Marley) 14.Roots, Rock, Dub - (single dub mix, previously unreleased, with Bob Marley) 15.Want More - (alternate album mix, previously unreleased, with Bob Marley) 16.Crazy Baldhead - (alternate album mix, previously unreleased, with Bob Marley) 17.War - (alternate album mix, previously unreleased, with Bob Marley) 18.Johnny Was - (alternate album mix, previously unreleased, with Bob Marley) •DISC 2: 1.Introduction - (previously unreleased, with Bob Marley) 2.Trenchtown Rock - (previously unreleased, with Bob Marley) 3.Burnin` and Lootin` - (previously unreleased, with Bob Marley) 4.Them Belly Full (But We Hungry) - (previously unreleased, with Bob Marley) 5.Rebel Music (3 O`Clock Road Block) - (previously unreleased, with Bob Marley) 6.I Shot the Sheriff - (previously unreleased, with Bob Marley) 7.Want More - (previously unreleased, with Bob Marley) 8.No Woman No Cry - (with Bob Marley) 9.Lively up Yourself - (previously unreleased, with Bob Marley) 10.Roots, Rock, Reggae - (previously unreleased, with Bob Marley) 11.Rat Race - (previously unreleased, with Bob Marley) 12.Smile Jamaica (Part One) - (with Bob Marley) 13.Smile Jamaica (Part Two) - (with Bob Marley) Album Information
